Leonista Margarita
Introducing The Leonista Margarita Box
I’ve had Leonista for 3 years now and I've only just started learning how to make a proper Margarita. It's the best thing I've ever done. Nobody knows who invented the Margarita. But it's very likely that it involves a beautiful woman.
Most commonly a Margarita is a sugary, mass-produced version from a slush machine in an oversized glass which is very different from how they originated.
One of the earliest stories is of the Margarita being invented in 1938 in Baja California, created for the customer and former Ziegfeld dancer Marjorie King, who was allergic to many spirits, but not to Tequila.
Margarita, which means ‘daisy’ in Spanish is noted in the Oxford English Dictionary, “a cocktail made with Tequila and citrus fruit juice. Today there are hundreds of permutations of margaritas made with watermelon, orange, passion fruit, pineapple & chilli - even avocado. And, as of 2008, the Margarita was the most commonly ordered drink in the U.S.
At their best, a real Margarita is the perfect balance of sweet and sour, filled with vitamin C and a beautiful 100% agave spirit (traditionally with Tequila, or sometimes Mezcal) kick to keep you buzzing throughout the day or night. The best margaritas I've ever tasted are always the ones that use fresh ingredients, especially fresh lime.
Lime creates the sour while the sweet can be honey, agave syrup or orange liqueur like Triple Sec or Cointreau. I always prefer my margaritas shaken rather than frozen/blended as I feel you can taste the different flavours better. A lime squeezing device and cocktail shaker are key to making margarita production as easy as possible for you.
I have also been really loving the mandarin margarita as of late or as I call it “the Anti-virus” since it has so much Vitamin C, and makes me feel amazing. Again I prefer shaken rather than frozen.
I want everyone to be able to make “delish” margaritas at home so we are selling and delivering our very own Leonista Margarita Box.
Dancing while you squeeze, prepping and shaking your Margarita ingredients always makes things more fun - so we’ve created the…
